I’m so excited that we’re moving (ever so slowly) out of winter. I actually saw the sun rise during my 530pm yoga class this evening!! I’m ready to go to some camping. What’s your favorite spring/summer activity?

I have some upcoming activities left to help get you over the winter hump! I still have one opening in my Slow flow class above cornerstone this Saturday 2/3 at 8:30am and 3 spots for my foam rolling class to follow at 9:45am. The cost for both is $21 and for just foam rolling it’s $12. Click here to join

I have been working with some amazing women this winter, and I want to share some wins:

1- a client has been able to work with me for an hour without taking a bathroom break!

2- a client has seen improvement with rib flare and getting a stronger core to support her movement patterns of daily life.

3- a client feels better and uplifted after we meet

4- a client has noticed a 100% better urinary urge incontinence after finishing her 12 week program with me.

I absolutely love all these women that I’m working with. And if you’re a man and think I don’t have anything for you, I actually have MANY men who come to and enjoy my pelvic floor yoga classes at Just Plain Yoga. Click here if you want to join me on Tuesdays at 9am or Thursdays at 5:30pm, online or in person! If this month doesn’t work for you, I’m doing it again the first Saturday of March, mark your calendar.

If you are working with me, you know that I have a Power Plate at my studio. While I don’t have a ton of equipment, this piece of equipment is by far one of the best pieces of equipment in the fitness world.

New To Power Plate?

Most people know that Power Plate is powerful enough to trigger growth of new bone cells.

But did you know that Power Plate training and usage can result in reduced fall frequency in people older than 60?

When you stand on a Power Plate, the harmonic (comfortable and consistent) waves provide true vibration.

True vibration is something that comes from the patented set of technologies that Power Plate created. The engine inside each PowerPlate sends waves of energy in 3 dimensions simultaneously.

This forces your muscles to respond involuntarily. The platform does the work for you which automatically trains you to be more agile.

Fewer falls means fewer broken bones and other injuries.

This is a machine that does much of the work for you. Here is how the technology works:

Muscles are attached to tendons.

Tendons are attached to bones.

When you step on the Power Plate, you muscles contract. This pulls on the tendon and puts force on the bone.

And the more force, the more pull that is put on the bone.

This triggers a response from the bone to build up two main parts of your bone.

1. The cortical, outer part of your bone.

2. The trabecular, inner part of your bone.

Doing ten minutes a day of simple, gentle squats can help trigger this response from your bones. (Text from Power Plate)

Every client who does personal training with me uses the power plate for at least 10 minutes per session. How amazing is that??? If you’re interested in using power plate with me, you can book a call to find out how we can work together.

I want to leave you with one little quote from my good friend Amanda, and that’s “keep your tits over toes” and that’s a great piece of advice if you’re having leakage. Posture is a big part of leakage, so keep that ribcage stacked over pelvis folks!

If you want to catch up with Amanda, who has a wealth of information on her socials, you can connect with her on instagram, just click here. I guarantee you’ll love her and find some awesome information on her page.

As for me, I want to share my 2024 vision board with you. Check it out, see if anything resonates with you and if you want to help me make my dreams come true, I’ll take all the help I can get. (Especially if it’s about going camping!!)

May your coffee and your pelvic floor be strong,

Paula
