🤝 Strength in Numbers: Building Community Through Movement & Connection 🧘♀️💪

🎄 December is here, and it’s the perfect time to pause and reflect on the incredible communities we’re lucky to be a part of. Whether it’s your yoga class, a circle of mom friends, or a networking group, these connections hold us up when life feels heavy and celebrate with us when life feels light.
For me, this month has been all about community. From the mats in my studio to the amazing women at our Women Entrepreneur Holiday Networking Party, I’ve been reminded over and over: we’re stronger together. 💪
Let’s dig into how community—whether in Pilates, yoga, or life—can be your secret weapon for strength, connection, and joy.
Have you ever felt that boost of energy when you’re exercising alongside others? There’s something powerful about flowing, breathing, and moving together. And honestly, it’s not just fun—it’s science.
Research shows that working out in a group boosts motivation and reduces stress (yes, even during holiday chaos 🎁). And as Brené Brown says, “Connection is the energy that exists between people when they feel seen, heard, and valued.”
I don’t know about you, but I feel that energy every time I move with a group of women. So whether it’s nailing your first plank hold or taking five minutes to breathe deeply, remember—you don’t have to do it alone.
Here’s the thing: pelvic floor health can feel really personal, even isolating. But the truth is, so many of us are navigating the same struggles—postpartum recovery, C-section scars, and more.
When we open up about these challenges, amazing things happen. We find hope, healing, and maybe even a little humor (because let’s be real, moms are pros at laughing through the chaos 🎅).
Deborah Adele, in her book The Yamas & Niyamas, reminds us that “we need time to rest and reflect.” Yes, for ourselves—but also to lean on the strength of others.
That’s what I love about the women I get to work with. We lift each other up, celebrate our wins (hello, Vagina Victories! 🎉), and never stop growing.
There’s a word in yoga, sangha, that means a “community of practice.” It’s the idea that when we come together with intention, we amplify each other’s strength.
I felt this so strongly at the Women Entrepreneur Holiday Networking Party earlier this month. The room was buzzing with connection, collaboration, and encouragement. So many quality connections were made, and I left inspired by the power of women supporting women. 🌟
As Brené Brown puts it: “We are hardwired to connect with others. It’s what gives purpose and meaning to our lives.”
That’s not just true in business—it’s true on the yoga mat, in our homes, and even in the way we show up for ourselves.
As 2024 comes to a close, I’m feeling extra grateful for the women who’ve trusted me to guide them in their wellness journeys. Whether we’ve shared a laugh during a reformer session, celebrated small victories in a Zoom check-in, or just encouraged each other through busy mom life—thank you.
Community isn’t just about being together—it’s about growing together. So as we step into 2025, let’s carry that strength forward. Whether it’s through yoga, Pilates, or simply reaching out to another woman in need, we are so much stronger when we lift each other up. 💕
